If you or someone you know has a big birthday or anniversary coming up, you can request a congratulatory letter from the Premier, the Prime Minister, the Governor, or the Governor-General.
To make sure the message arrives on time, it’s best to start the request early – ideally at least four weeks before the date. Family and friends often organise these letters to help mark those important milestones.
If you would also like a less formal congratulatory message from me, I'd be happy to provide one.
You can request a letter for the following milestones:

How to Request a Letter
Step 1
Organise a copy of a supporting document to verify the applicant's date of birth or marriage. These documents include:
Birth or marriage certificate (photocopies are acceptable)
Passport or citizenship papers (photocopies are acceptable)
OR
Statutory declaration to confirm date of birth, or place and date of marriage. The statutory declaration should be signed by a member of the family and witnessed by a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations. A link to a statutory declaration template can be found here or picked up at a post office.
Submit the completed form and supporting materials to our office at least 6 weeks prior to the anniversary so that the letters can be delivered in time.
